Hideo Kojima Offers an Update on the Metal Gear Successor, Physint.

In his interview with Le Film Français, Kojima said that Physint, the spiritual sequel to the much-loved Metal Gear, will take five or six years to complete, so all Metal Gear fans should rejoice that Kojima intends to do some work related to this iconic series; he also talked about simultaneously working on directing movies.

The Metal Gear series has recently gone down in history as the most legendary action stealth game series. Even before Konami, every series in the franchise managed to create its identity in the world of stealth-action, with newer concepts in storytelling, cinematic presentation, and gameplay every time. The very first episode is said to have taken its breath away in 1987, with Solid Snake gaining so much attention that the franchise was barely known during the very early stages in the PS1 era with Metal Gear Solid.

In his interview with Le Film Français, Kojima dropped some exciting news. Along with the highly anticipated Death Stranding 2, he's working on a new action-espionage game called Physint. But don't expect it anytime soon; it might take around five or six years to finish.

Kojima also mentioned he's been toying with the idea of trying his hand at filmmaking someday, aside from making more games. He's always been a massive film and TV buff, and that love shines through in his work—not just in those long, scripted cutscenes but also in how he uses camera angles and cinematic techniques to tell stories."

What's really interesting about Physint is how mysterious it still is. It's a 'hybrid experience' meant to blur the lines between video games and movies. As he puts it, 'It's both a game and a movie at the same time."
